How do I sell a monthly membership?

Sell a number of sessions each month, or unlimited sessions, for a price each month. Teamna asks for each month's payment and sends reminders.

A monthly membership gives a member a number of sessions each month, for example 8, or unlimited sessions. The member pays a price each month. Sessions that the member does not use in a month do not go to the next month.

Any business can sell a membership. It is a usual way to sell in a business where clients book for themselves, for example a pilates studio.

Teamna shows the words of your business. A swimming academy sees Parents, Swimmers and Levels. A pilates studio sees Clients and Classes. This article uses member, participant and group.

Add a membership

Only the owner can add a membership. Do it on the web app.

  1. In the menu, open Classes and packages, then Packages and rules.
  2. Select Add a package.
  3. Type the Name, for example "8 sessions a month".
  4. Under What it is, select Monthly membership.
  5. Type the Sessions a month. For no limit, turn on Unlimited.
  6. Type the Price a month, AED.
  7. Optional: set Free cancellations and Covers, as for a package.
  8. Select Put it on sale.

You cannot change a package to a membership, or a membership to a package. Add a new one.

To change the price or the sessions, select the membership and select Save changes. A month that the member paid keeps its price and its sessions. The next months use the new price and the new number.

Set the renewal day

Every membership month starts on the renewal day of your business, in your time zone. The default is the 1st of the month.

  1. On Packages and rules, find Membership renewal day.
  2. Select a day from 1 to 28.

Teamna saves the change at once. A month that the member paid keeps its days.

The first month

The first month starts on the day the member pays. It ends on the next renewal day. When the first month is shorter than a full month, the member pays a part of the price and gets a part of the sessions. For example, a member who joins on the 20th, with the renewal day on the 1st, pays for 11 days of 30.

A member buys a membership in the app or on the web. You can also sell one at the desk:

  1. Open the member page, then Sell a package.
  2. Select the membership. Teamna shows the price of the first month.
  3. Select Paid in cash, Paid by bank transfer or Not paid yet.

A month that is not paid cannot be used to book sessions.

How a membership renews

Teamna does not keep card details, so it does not take the money by itself. Each month:

  1. 7 days before the renewal day, Teamna asks the member for the next month's payment. Teamna sends reminders, by push, and by WhatsApp where WhatsApp is on.
  2. The member pays in the app, on the web, or with the payment link. Or they pay you in cash or by bank transfer, and you record it.
  3. When the payment comes in, the next month is ready. The member can book its sessions.

If the next month is not paid on the renewal day, the member cannot book sessions in that month. Sessions they booked before stay. When they pay, they can book again. If the month is not paid before it ends, the membership ends.

Record a month paid in cash or by bank transfer

  1. Open the member page. The Membership box shows the month that waits for a payment.
  2. Select Record a payment.
  3. Select Cash or Bank transfer. Optional: type a note, for example a receipt number.
  4. Select Record.

The month is paid, the reminders stop, and the member gets a message. To send the payment link instead, select Copy the payment link.

What counts toward the sessions of a month

A session counts toward the month in which it starts. These count:

  • A booking.
  • A late cancellation, when your rule is The session is lost.
  • A session that the member did not come to.

A cancellation before the cut-off gives the session back. When a member has a membership and a package, the membership pays first. When the month has no session left, the package pays.

Cancel a membership

A member can cancel their membership in the app or on the web, on Payments. The membership does not renew. It ends on the next renewal day. The member can book the sessions of the paid month until then.

You can cancel it for them on the member page:

  1. In the Membership box, select Cancel the membership.
  2. Select At the end of the month, or Now.

Now ends the membership at once. Sessions already booked stay. No new session can be booked from it. Teamna gives no money back. If you agree to give money back, refund the payment in Payments.

What the member sees

On their home, the member sees "3 of 8 used this month", or "Unlimited", and the day the next month starts. When the next month waits for a payment, they see the amount and a Pay button.
